ARROZ DOCE Recipe | Portuguese sweet rice pudding with my Grandma

Hello! and welcome back to my channel. Today’s video is going to be in Portuguese because I am here in Portugal and my grandmother and I are going to make Rice Pudding, that is a traditional Portuguese dessert. So many of you asked me to make a video in Portuguese so here you have it! Also, my grandmother doesn’t understand English so this way is better. The recipe for this dessert is going to be on my website, in English! So if you don’t understand anything of this video you can go there and check out the recipe. The best Rice Pudding that I know is my grandmothers one, so I will show you the best! I hope you give it a try! Let’s begin? First, place 1,5L of water in a big pan and put it boiling. In a smaller pan place 1,5L of milk boiling in a low temperature. To the water join 1 lemon peal, 1 cinnamon stick, a pinch of salt and 50g of butter. When the water starts boiling join 2 cups of rice. And don’t forget to wash the rice first! Then let it boil for 10 minutes. Now add the milk and let it boil another 10 minutes in a low temperature. At this point taste a bit of rice to check if its fully cooked and if it is join two cups of sugar. If the mixture is a bit too thick you can join a bit more of warm milk. Let it boil 5 minutes more, always stirring, until the mixture is nice and creamy. Then separate 3 egg yolks from the egg whites and join them to the rice mixture with the heat already turned off and mix very well. Now you just have to put the mixture in little bowls and let it cool down before eating. When it has cooled down keep it in the fridge. And that’s Done! And that’s it! We finished it! hope you enjoyed the video. I will see you next week. Goodbye!

  1. I've been waiting for a video in Portoguese for so long! It's very funny listening to you speaking this language.

  2. I love Portugal, Portugish people, houses, food and wine. Spent 3 amazing months there and know that still there are a lot of things to explore in Portugal. Definitely it's one of the best country in Europe.

  3. In my country, it´s arroz con leche, is the same, but, we only use milk to cook the rice, and we dont use eggs. And… You speak spanish?

  4. Thank you for sharing such sweet and memorable moments with your grandmother. I so love hearing your language. Your vids make me happy 🌟✨🌟✨

  5. Adorei o teu video por varias razões … Mas a principal foi a memória da cozinha da minha mãe e sobretudo daquela balança! Parabéns pelas tuas receitas que tenho estado a fazer sempre com sucesso! És linda miúda!
