Blackened Salmon – A Slightly Spicy Very Easy Low Carb Keto Seafood Recipe


Welcome all! Papa G here. Today I present
a very flavorful seafood dish, My blackened salmon recipe. This is a super
easy, incredibly delicious recipe that adds a subtle Cajun flavor to a
standard salmon filet. Let’s get started. We’ll start with two fresh salmon
fillets. Remove the skin from the backside simply by running a sharp knife
along the skin and flesh. I like to trim the backside of the fillet so that the
thickness is roughly the same as the front. This will help to evenly cook. Once
the fillets are prepped, we’ll work on the marinade. To a small mixing bowl add
some avocado oil; soy sauce; and some ground ginger. Give that a quick mix to
combine. Now add a quarter cup of my spicy and sweet Asian sauce and mix to
combine. I’ll have that recipe link in the
description below. Add the salmon to a plastic bag and pour the marinade over
the fillets. Ensure each fillet is fully coated. Let it marinate in the
refrigerator for at least two hours to overnight. Remove the salmon from the
marinade and place on some paper towels. Pat it dry to remove the excess moisture. To spice up the fillets, we’ll be using a
blackened seasoning; like this one here. Generously add the seasoning to the tops
and pat it in. Turn the fillet over and season the bottom as well. To a hot
skillet on high heat, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of a high smoke point oil.
I’m using avocado oil here, but any high smoke point oil will work just fine. Place the fillets in the skillet,
undisturbed for two minutes. This will give us a nice spicy crust. Flip and sear
the other side for two minutes as well. Remove to a parchment lined baking dish
or pan. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 8 to 10
minutes, or until fully cooked. Remove from the oven. Serve hot and enjoy one of
the best-tasting, easiest salmon recipes you’ll ever try. There you have it folks!
