Corn Capsicum Rice Recipe by Bhargavi with Archana – Healthy Vegetarian Main Course in Marathi

In our lives, we come across few people with
whom we just click instantly! Even I came across one such
person in my life. She is an actress, a dancer, practices yoga and
has also won a dance reality show. Did you guess it?
Absolutely right! Yes! I would like to welcome
one of my favorite persons, the leading actress of the Marathi film ‘Sandook’
releasing on 5th June 2015 across Maharashtra – Bhargavi Chirmule. Please come Bhargavi. How are you?
– I am doing great. Thank you so much for the lovely introduction. Bhargavi, the title ‘Sandook’
sounds very interesting. Please tell me something about it. ‘Sandook’ refers to a trunk
and it could be of any size. But Sandook is always used to
store something valuable. Sandook is a story of a
common man of the 1940s. A common man works hard,
earns bread and butter and looks after his family but if all of a sudden he says he wants
to participate in a social movement, then a wife of 1940s would say
‘what’s the need to get involved in this fuss’? And the present-day
wife too would want to ditto it. So, in a very humorous way, we have
presented the story of the common man in 2 hours 20 minutes. Bhargavi, please share something
about your role in this film. I play the role of Wamanrao Ashtaputre’s
(Sumeet Raghvan) wife. Rukmini Ashtaputre is a homemaker. Her biggest concern is that
her husband is a day dreamer. His forefathers were freedom fighters. But.. ..this generation has no spark. This frustrates her. But simultaneously she is worried for
him out of love and concern. Also, she is concerned if he will be able to
take up the responsibilities of the family. He works at a post office but considers as if he is fighting
against the Britishers or like his forefathers, he
is at the battlefield for a revolt! In reality, he doesn’t do anything. She is unable to understand
what is happening? So her situation is more like a sandwich! Rukmini Ashtaputre can be compared
to any wife in the present-day. As husbands have always been the
same since ages so have the wives. As you just mentioned sandwich, so I
thought we must move to the recipe. As you are here today,
what will you cook for all of us? I am not a good cook because I think it doesn’t make a difference
if you cook or you don’t. So, while cooking, half the time, I am
busy over the phone, listening to a song or
having a chat with someone. My mother always scolds me for this. But what I am fond of doing
is disliked by every woman. Shall I tell you about it? I like cleaning the leftovers after cooking. So, at home, the moment cooking is
done everyone sits relaxed and asks me to clean the leftovers. But it’s an important thing indeed.
– Yes! so I do the most important thing. But at the same time when I enter
the kitchen, once in a while I like to cook an appetizing recipe. Today I will show you all a recipe called ‘Corn Capsicum Rice’ So what shall we begin with? Firstly, let’s take some oil. Next, take some butter. Now, add finely chopped garlic (2 tbsp). Generous amount of garlic, right?
This must be a whole garlic? – Yes. Which are your favorite recipes? I am a vegetarian and I like
all kinds of vegetarian food. But to be specific, I am very fond of Modak
(Stuffed sweet dumpling) made by my mother. Also, Bhoplyache Gharge (Sweet pumpkin puri). And the most favorite is dal rice prepared by my mother. Cook until the garlic turns crispy. As soon as it’s done
we can add other ingredients. I think so, it’s done. Now, we will add the
3 bell peppers. Capsicums. If 3 colors are not available, a
single color would do. If it is to be made for non-vegetarians? You need to tell that as it’s
your forte. I think prawns! – Yes, prawns
or shredded chicken can be used. Even omelet can be cut to pieces
and used. – Yes, egg! Now, what do we add next?
– Corn. The corn kernels are boiled already. Even the rice is boiled. Bhargavi, as the film is historic
but humorous, how was your experience
while shooting? Speaking of experience, I would like to share one – throughout the film, other than a
romantic song sequence and one Paithani saree, I have shot the complete film
using only 2 sarees. It was a real fun. I would get to do all the day’s scenes
in one saree. There was no havoc to change costumes
frequently especially as it was a traditional attire. I would like to share
one more interesting thing with you! In the film ‘Sandook’,
there are only two females. One is Sandook, who is the
lead actress of the film. The entire film is based on the concept of Sandook (trunk). And me. There were no females around on the set. Due to this I was pampered a lot. I was looked after all the time if I
needed anything and also, was taken care of. Now, it’s time to add the rice. I saw the trailer and song from the film
‘Chand Tu Nabhatla’ on YouTube. I found it very funny.
So how was your experience shooting for it? Basically, ‘Chand Tu Nabhatla’ is a love song. So considering the look of the
song to be from the 1940s, we decided to shoot it differently. We have seen the films of golden era of the duo Raja Gosavi-Jayshree Gadkar
and their romantic duets. We tried to replicate
the same in the song. Now, let’s add the seasoning. It is easily available in the market. It’s vegetarian super seasoning. I want to mention that it contains salt. So we must be cautious while adding salt
to the recipe. – It must be added less. Bhargavi, capsicum and corn is making it colorful! And the aroma is so tempting that
I’m waiting for you to add the chopped sprigs of the spring onion. And quickly offer it me to taste it. I am eagerly waiting. I want to tell you that the
‘Sandook’ team is equally eager! We are all awaiting for 5th June 2015 to arrive
and the film to release in theaters. I feel that on 5th June 2015,
we are bringing to you a Sandook (trunk) filled with pure entertainment. It contains thrill along with
some real entertainment! Open it with rejoice and I am sure
you will get something valuable out of it. One last ingredient is remaining
in our recipe. Only the chopped sprigs of
spring onions. Let’s add it to have a nice green color. Finally, add some butter for an enticing aroma. Rice is almost ready. But, let’s add little salt as we have already added seasoning
and butter with salt in it. Lastly, add a little butter for the aroma. You all must be very excited to know
how delicious this Rice would taste. Similarly, if you want to view more recipes, Subscribe to Ruchkar Mejwani. Watch as many recipes as you can as we know ‘Food is the ultimate life!’ and Chef Archana makes sure
that it reaches to you! And now we are ready to enjoy this! On 5th June 2015, we are
bringing to you the film ‘Sandook’. So, it will be apt if you
watch this film in a theater. If you do that, Sumeet Raghvan
who plays Wamanrao Ashtaputre and me, Bhargavi Chirmule who
plays Rukmini Ashtaputre will feel appreciated! I will definitely go and watch!
– Yes, sure.
