When Allrecipes member, Shelly,
submitted this recipe for Banana Bread, she commented, “Why compromise
the banana flavor? This banana bread is moist and delicious, with loads
of banana flavor! Friends and family love my recipe,
and say it’s by far the best! It’s wonderfully toasted,
Enjoy!” Let’s start by preheating the
oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 by 5 inch
loaf pan with softened butter, or vegetable oil spray. Next, in a large bowl, combine
2 cups all purpose flour, with a teaspoon of baking soda, and a quarter teaspoon of salt. Now, in a separate bowl, cream
together half a cup of butter, that’s been softening at room
temperature, with 3 quarters of a cup of
brown sugar. Then beat 2 eggs, and add those to the mixture. And now, mash 4 to 5 over ripe
bananas. In the end you’re looking for
2 and a third cups banana. So use what you need. Blend it all together well. Now we can stir the banana
mixture into the flour mixture. Mix it just to moisten, you don’t
want to over work the flour. And pour the batter into the
prepared loaf pan. Place the filled pan in a preheated
oven for 60 to 65 minutes. Until a toothpick inserted in the
center of the loaf comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan
for ten minutes, and then turn it out onto
a wire rack. This banana bread is so good that
they named it twice: Banana Banana Bread!

  1. The only thing I recommend is to put 4/5 bananas on the recipe you put in the description instead of 2 1/3 cups. My mom needed to go to the store to get more bananas because we got confused with how to read 2 1/3

    Edit: I’m also 12

  2. I made this thinking that it would turn out to be a complete disaster since:

    1. I’ve never baked anything so this would be my first time

    2. Some of the ingredients clumped together and was really hard to mix together smoothly

    3. If I messed up something then that would be it

I tasted it when it was done and it was PERFECT!

This is such a great and simple recipe that pretty much anyone can make and all o the ingredients are essentially already at home. I love it!

  7. I added 100 grams of raisins to the mixture… Yummy!
I think, I added more bananas than it should be, the round banana cake is huge when it came out of the oven.

  13. I am about to make it, just 2 questions.
    1) If am making 2 at the same time would i have to increase the oven time (i feel like Not, because its an Oven function, nota microwave) function.
    2) How would i know if my breade is done in less than an hour, let say 45 or 50 minutes, as some one in the comments just mentioned his oven made it in 45 minutes.
