Hi guys, I’m Laura Vitale and on this episode
of Laura in the Kitchen I want to show you how to make a simple, easy, fast but delicious
Korean Beef and Rice. Not authentic, but trust me, you’re going
to love it because it is delicious! Let me run you through the list of ingredients
you’ll need for the beef, because the rice is just white Jasmine rice that is cooked
to the package instructions. Ground Beef. I’ve got ginger, garlic, brown sugar, sesame,
hot pepper flakes, and here I’ve got soy sauce and a little bit of toasted sesame oil and
I also need some scallions for the top, and a little bit of either light olive oil or
an avocado oil or a vegetable oil or anything that’s light in flavor and can stand up to
heat because right now I have it going in a really hot pan because I want it to be really
hot when I add the beef in, so I’m going to add the beef, break it up as much as you can
with your wooden spoon. Now really important here with this recipe,
what makes it so delicious is that the beef, you have to break it up as much as you can
as it’s cooking, but it’s also really important that it cooks to the point where it almost
becomes crunchy if that makes any sense, so you have to give it some time. So while that’s happening, you are going to
break it up as much as you can with your wooden spoon periodically. While that happens you’re going to mix together
the ingredients for your sauce, so the soy, the oil, and I’ve got to get the ginger and
the garlic in there along with the brown sugar, you want to whisk this all together and then
you’re just going to set it aside until you’re ready for it which is not right now, but it’s
good to get it out of the way – oh my pepper flakes as well. But it’s good t get it out of the way. So I’m just going to cook my beef, breaking
it apart and doing what I have to do to make sure it’s evenly distributed in the pan and
it gets really crispy, delicious and almost starts to crackle and pop. So keep your eye on it, it can take a good
ten minutes but it is well worth it. Now this! That is exactly what you are looking for. I have discarded some of the fat from the
pan because I don’t want a lot of fat because I don’t like it swimming in grease, so I discarded
some of it but this is now perfect. Perfect time to add the sauce which is so
flavorful, so delicious, and you are going to let this simmer just for a couple of minutes
and then we will be ready to serve. That looks perfect. I’ve got some jasmine rice here that I’ve
cooked. You just want to cook it according to the
package instructions. It smells incredible in here, you need some
sesame seeds, and you definitely need some scallions over the top for a little freshness. Get that one in there. Oh and it smells so good. That sesame seed oil and the ginger together
just are a match made in food heaven. Oh my word! That is so good. The sauce is boss. Like, there are just no words for it. The beef is crispy, it’s salty, it’s just
everything you want good food to be. I hate to say it that way but it’s the best
way I can describe it. You’ll want to make this it’s super fast and
easy, go to LauraintheKitchen.com to get the written recipe, I hope that you have enjoyed
spending time with me and I will see you next time. Bye.

makeup tutorial !
Although this dish is absolutely not korean (i think this dish is more like taiwanese minced pork stew with rice), i think you did a great job & i luv this recipe!! Very simple & easy!!
Laura, looks like a great recipe.
I’m totally making this! I’m gonna steam some broccoli with it!
What a simple dinner idea. Gotta try it
This would probably make a bomb meat for lettuce wraps.
Is there a substitute for the red pepper flakes for people with family members that can’t have spicy hot food?
Do you ever wash the ground beef?
You hit the right Korean flavors with this dish!
i love that sauce!! i use it for my tofu
Could you substitute ground turkey for the beef?
We neeeed kimchi recipe please!!!
Just made this tonight and it was great!!! Just be careful with soy sauce, it was almost too much sodium for my taste…. but the rice made it work ❤️

I made this for dinner and it was so delicious and flavorful!! Plus, I love how quick and easy it was to make! Thank you, Laura!! 😊❤️
Very dried beef bbq looks nice~
I found it was way too salty, 0.5 cup of soy sauce with 1.5 pounds of ground beef, is that right?

You should make pad thai!

Properly can't understand that what kind of spices , materials and quantity are using. If you show spices and quantity by written format so that I can understand properly. Thanks .
This recipe is soooo good!
It’s a quick meal and has so much flavour! I’ve made it with ground beef, sliced beef, and ground chicken- all amazing!
Is this post too old to have a reply??
you didnt even use korean pepper flakes. how is this korean at all? there's literally NOTHING korean about this…
Rice and anything is good 👍
Your fine 🔥🔥🔥
Mute.
Did you add salt??
Thank you so much! I didn’t know that frying the meat for such a long time can be this good
How is this Korean?
Wondering if this will work with ground turkey. I'm going to try tonight and let you all know 🙂
You eat Rice with a spoon not a fork.
Made this it was amazing and super easy
Can you substitute the brown suger with regular white sugar
Attempting to make this tonight. Thanks Laura
Korean food cooked by a white woman ? 🤔
Nice cooking. It looks delicious.🤤🤤
2019 and new recipes from my favorite channel yuuuussss omg this camera quality and new intro !
Laura you have upped my cooking game so much!
You don't need to add oil to the pan when you're cooking ground beef. Even lean ground beef has a lot of fat already.
Gonna try this ❤❤
Hi can u use Turkey meat
That meat looked like dog kibble. No thanks. That sauce looks too salty.
imagine having this woman as your wife.
You should take your top off next time.
Id just mix the meat into the rice and make a fried rice recipe. This looks good.
Will this still turn out OK if I use a silicon spatula instead of a wooden spoon?
j/k'ing of course 😀
Would this work without the brown sugar?
Done! I love this recipe. I'm going to be doing this one again…and again…. I didnt have any ginger tonight but had everything else, now I cant wait to do it again with ginger.
Close enough =0)
Wow
Thank you for the video. I made it and the whole family loved it. And yes we did make lettuce wraps out of it.
I tried it but it came out salty than MF !!!! I don’t know where I went wrong lol 😂
Lol trying so hard to describe how to cook the beef
Just fry it
Milf fasho
I clicked because I saw "Korean." Still happy.
You mixed the ingredients without carefully saying what ingredients you are mixing. For someone who doesn't cook, it's very difficult to follow.
Just made this recipe tonight and it was absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend either using low sodium soy sauce or in my case, I used maggi brand soy sauce (pretty salty) and since the recipe calls for 1/2 cup of soy sauce, I poured in half water and half of the soy sauce in the 1/2 cup and let it soak up the sauce which is about 5 minutes. Served on top of rice with a fried egg! I recommend to everyone
Is the ginger like a liquid point? Or paste?
Omg Laura I made your recipe and it was amazing, I added a bit of honey to give it an extra kick while I sautéed the beef with the mixture. I gotta say 👌.. mmm.. mmm.. mm mm mm!!!!!!!
I masticate while watching these videos.
The Sauce Is Boss! 👌🏾
Burnt… er caramelized beef. Yummy.
R.I.P bottom teeth on that second bite
The ideal is half Soy Sauce and half water all soy Sauce like yours is too salty and the water evaporate fast even if im used low sodium Soy
Im making this tonight. Only Im adding some veggies. I already have my soy sauce mixture ready to go. Just smelling that smells so good. Its the same mixture ive been doing for years exvept I put a little white sugar with the brown sugar. I also put some hot Chili Garlic Sauce or Sambal in the soy mixture. I dont have any scallions so Im adding yellow onion, broccoli, carrots and Im trying celery too. I never did celery b4 but u dont know until u try.
So ground beef and barbecue sauce can go together.
Burning food to a certain point is not good…
i think u accidentally cremated the beef
Laura you are blessed with nice jugs can you do a video topless please?
Thank you for loving this recipe and sharing! Keep shining!
I've been watching your channel for 3 years and happy to see your Korean food recipe as a Korean.
