October Kitchen – Home Cooked Dinners Delivered To Your Home

– [Paul] I’m a guy who started out when I was a young kid
with my own business selling candy in high school. I spent many years as a restaurant chef, and as a personal chef cooking for clients in their own home. It was great. I had a big following of
families that I became really a part of their families, and I would go to their house, and bring all my pots and pans, and do all the shopping, and create food just for them. I always wanted to
expand and be able to do what I do for more people, and we created October
Kitchen as a chef service. (inspiring music) – [Paul] October Kitchen
is a business concept that I created myself. We’re a fresh delivered food service. We change our menu every week. We’ll hermetically seal all our product so it’s really cooked, chilled, sealed, and delivered within 24 hours right from our kitchen, right to your doorstep. (inspiring music) – [Paul] The alternatives
out there are really manufactured and really processed, and it just gets to be unhealthy. You have a lawn service,
they cut your lawn. You have a maid service,
they clean your house. Why wouldn’t you have a chef
service to do your cooking? If you look at the time
that it takes for you to figure out what you’re going to make, do the shopping, bring it all home, do the cooking, make
sure everything’s fresh, and you’re not losing things to spoilage, it’s ridiculous to try
to think that you’re saving yourself any time or money. A chef service does all of that. I’ve got a family, the mom was just telling
my wife the other day how she’s really gotten
a lot of her family, and her family time back. They used to be so scattered and so busy, with the kids going in this direction, and that direction, and they’ve got their
careers and their business, but since they started
getting October Kitchen food on a regular basis they
all sit down for dinner. She doesn’t have to
worry about what to cook. They can even get all their
own individual choices. He wants meatloaf, she wants chicken, the other ones want fish, and they sit down for a
hour, an hour and a half every night around the dinner table, and get to enjoy their food, and they get to have that hugely valuable quality time with each other. (deep piano music) – [Paul] One of the things I
love most about October Kitchen is it’s forced me to get
outside of my comfort zone. It’s forced me to work on a lot of things in terms of learning how to do marketing, learning how to do
managerial organization, and human resources. All the other aspects of a business that they don’t teach
you in culinary school. Being a chef I think it’s like
being an orchestra leader, there’s a lot of different
parts of the band. My dream is to be the
coast-to-coast king of slow food, like McDonalds is the king of fast food. It’s a whole different animal, but there’s such a huge need, I really see that it could be something that the whole country could take use of.
