Steamed Rice & Curry | No Microwave No Problem

Steamed Rice & Curry | No Microwave No Problem

Wow tent hair since I started letting my
hair grow out I realized now I guess I better bring a comb or brush or
something this is this is weird now I wish I had nice straight hair like
Kriz Akoni he’s a contributor to backpacking and hiking and he can be on
the top of a mountain an his hair even if it blows it lays right back down not
one hair out of place is weird but you might check his channel out I
type his channel up here Kriz Akoni yeah anyway
well what I’m really trying to do is um I noticed last night I’ve been
hiking with MikeP hiker for a few years now and I’ve noticed he’s has eaten rice
and curry oh I need to look over here he he’s been eating rice and curry from
time to time I never paid much attention to it but there’s no microwave oven out
here anything so he came up with a technique that he uses and I’m going to take you back to last night cause I had a chance to document his technique and I
think you’ll find it interesting so here we go okay Mike’s getting ready to fix
his supper he don’t have a microwave but he’s got these two this is rice this is
rice and this is curry both are made by Ottogi right Mike same company I’ll
put a link down in Amazon you can buy them off Amazon or you can go to your
local Asian store but with no microwave Mike has come up with this technique for
steaming that rice that’s cook rice that’s all plastic oh he’s punched
right punch holes in the bottom then on the top put the slice vinyl
three times many times that he puts it on this three minutes on top of that
boiling water yep three minutes yeah you have to you have
to figure it out cause that is plastic it will melt if you do it too strong but
he’s done it a million times so he’s starting his timer now this here is
made by the same company called Ottogi but this is the only one that comes in a
bag that you can boil right yes three minute that’s what it says sum bun
kotti that’s close to they can get the curry kotti all right now that’s rice I
I like this rice too my wife makes it all the time when she don’t have time to
put it in the cooker boil it in hot water too three minutes
did you set your timer are you just gonna guess oh yeahdoka y yo do good while too hot not
actually actually what do you put it in you put it in this pot here or will you
take the water out and do right so keep the water for cleaning and then I put
the rice and the curry in there all right three minutes later he’s ready to
take that out Oh got a hole full of chopstick yeah who would think of that
exceptsome oriental yeah that water’s for cleaning so he he’s just
gonna pourl it in his Cup actually you can drink coffee what it is
yeah that’s a Titan kettle I brought mine tonight – yeah that’s a good size
for everything really yeah knows I’m recording so it’s making
everything a little different out for you I’m on the video my hand is shaking tastes good don’t look pretty but it
tastes good yeah yeah okay I must let you have a bite and then I’ll yeah look
see okay I take a bite and then I’ll finish it up all right enjoy your hot
supper all right

  1. That's some fancy hair! LoL, thanks for shouting my magic hair… ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ That's a fantastic cooking/steam technique, thanks for sharing that. Definitely going to have to try that.

  2. Well now that beats the heck out of Ramen any day. Going to have to look for some of that here. Thanks for sharing.

  3. John, honestly a comb or brush wonโ€™t help. Lol letโ€™s just agree our hair ainโ€™t what it use to be. MikeP is the chef of the backwoods. I miss you guys, need to get together soon.

  4. That's one way to warm them up. My lazier way is that put those packages in boiling water for 3~4 minutes without puncturing them.
You may be more senior than me, but sure have more hair than me.๐Ÿ˜Ž
    Happy camping!

  5. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜† That's so true about Kriz! Love your new hairstyle ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. That's a neat way to cook rice. I like it.
